Fresh from cinema.. .. Midnight in Paris

I just watched MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (2011) in cinema

- and I loved it!

In a tiny nut-shell:

A aspiring writer stays for holidays in Paris - and finds himself all over sudden in the 1920s..

So, if you are a fan of..

.. the 1920s

.. the left bank scene in Paris - and always wanted to meet Dalƭ (Adrien Brody - he is marvellous.. as always..), Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald (Alison Pill & the wonderful Tom Hiddleston), Hemingway (Corey Stoll - amazing..), Gertrude Stein (Kathy Bates) and so many more.. for film buffs: Luis BuƱuel (Adrien de Van) has two short appearances, too.. ;")

.. Paris

.. Marion Cotillard (you should be - she is wonderful!)

.. Owen Wilson

.. time travel plots

.. Woody Allen

- please watch this film!

Watch out for Carla Bruni - First Lady of France! - she plays a Museum Guide!

Have a look:

~ oh - and just by the way: Camille Claudel was Rodin's lover - NOT his wife. That actually was Rose.. ;") ~

Thank you all for listening!

Yours

(very well and) truly

Irene

~ who keeps amazingly still about the frequently wrong shaped eyebrows in period films.. ;"p ~

  1. I just saw this too and although I know it paints a *completely* unrealistic picture of modern Paris, I thought it painted an equally *wonderful* picture of 1920s Paris. But I fear you've now wrecked watching films set in the past for me because now I'll be looking at everybody's eyebrows and thinking, "Hmmm...would Irene approve of those...?"

  2. I loved this movie. Woody is back in form. It is amusing, romantic and beautifully filmed. What more could you ask?

  3. Martin (hope you don't mind that I call you Martin? if so: Mr. Turnbull..)- I felt the same about the picturizing of Paris.. And I was completely into that 1920s Paris setting - hooked me immediately..

Hope I didn't spoil films which are setted in the past because of this eyebrow thing for you.. - though I love that people might think of me.. vain little thing I am.. ;")

Exactly, FlickChick.. I for one couldn't get enough of the Paris in the past scenes..

Though Marion Cotillard's eyebrows.. ;"p Similar thing happend with me and Marion Cotillard in PUBLIC ENEMIES - wrong knickers!! scandalous! ;")
