Sommy puppy love.. ..with Walter Slezak

 Can you imagine a time when (my beloved) Walter Slezak actually was known as a romantic lead?

* May 3, 1902 (Vienna, Austria)

† April 21, 1983 (Flower Hill, New York, USA - suicide)

Oh - yes.. he was. It was way back in Germany - before his love for good food start showing..

Have one pic from this time:

~ this was made in the late 20's.. ~

He was quite dashing - wasn't he?

Of course.. - it's Tuesday.. - so here are some puppy love pictures - also from the late 20's:

 Have a wonderful day you all!

Enjoy your meals!

Yours (very well and) truly

Irene

  1. Oh, how sad that he committed suicide! Since he was in his 80's at the time, I wonder if he was struggling with some health issues and that is what caused him to take his own life.

    Way back in the 80's, I used to watch the soap opera "One Life to Live." One of the lead actresses on the show was Erika Slezak. I do believe she was his daughter.

    Yes, Erika Slezak is his daughter. And: yes - he was struggling with several health issues before he shot himself.

  3. Great choice in Walter Slezak for today's post Irene. Just recently watched him in Come September. Love him..and wow I did not know Erika Slezak was his daughter. I watched that with my mom a lot growing up.

  4. Erica played Vicki on One Life to Live for over forty years. The show was cancelled last spring and aired its final episode on January 13, 2012

  5. Irene, I don't know where or how on earth you tracked those old photos down but they were so interesting to see what he looked like when he was younger. Thanks for posting these!
