Swinging with a star - Marlene Dietrich

Today we swing into the weekend with a lady - acting and dressed like no lady would in public..

It's my beloved Marlene Dietrich (yeah.. ok - we had our tough times, too) - in her break through appearance as Lola Lola in THE BLUE ANGEL (1930).

And because I am not able to embed the video - you get the link to the song THEY CALL ME NAUGHTY LOLA she is singing in this film.

- just by the way: the literal translation would be "I am the jaunty Lola"..

Director Josef von Sternberg put her in front of some more chubby ladies so she would appear a bit more slender..

It was some time before she got through her "Hollywood treatment"..

I for one think she was quite cute..
